Action, explosions, humor, and sci-fi all wrapped up in this book make it a #1 favorite for me. When one of them – Angel – is captured by scientists in a laboratory called, “The School,” Max and the rest of the flock must save her. Max is a human-avian hybrid and so is the rest of her flock. When Angel gets kidnapped, however, their peaceful existence is shattered and they begin a race to save Angel’s life. They escaped from the lab that made them – called the school – when they were small, so now they are living in the wild on their own. Their DNA is only 98% human – the other 2% is avian. Maximum Ride and her flock – Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel – are not like us.

This was a great read because it was very suspenseful and humorous. I hate reading in the car, because it gives me headache, but I do it anyways because I can’t stop reading Maximum Ride! Also, you never have a boring chapter. I like them because you just can’t put the book down. The Maximum Ride series are my favorite books. Along the way they meet people and do other stuff, too. Max was told that she was created to save the world. The Flock (Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Angel, and Nudge) are always running for their lives. Erasers are half-wolf, half-human and are supposed to kill and/or capture any mutants. Nudge can touch things and know what happened there. Max has a voice in her head and can fly really fast. Angel can read minds, control minds, breathe underwater, and talk to fish. They were experimented on and were turned into avian hybrids (meaning they have wings and can fly).

These 6 kids were taken away when they were babies.

This book is about 6 kids: Max (oldest), Fang, Iggy (blind), Angel, Gasman, and Nudge. The mad scientists graft avian (bird) DNA into them, so now the kids have wings and a lot of other cool superpowers, but they’re always being hunted by the Erasers (half-person, half-wolf). They’ve been experimented on by the scientists at the school. This book was awesome! It is about these kids, Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman (you don’t even want to know why he’s called that), and Angel.
